AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS North Texas Chapter Established in 1952 for the Fellows of the North Texas Chapter of the American College of Surgeons WELCOME TO THE NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER WEB SITE! The NTACS is your regional representative of the American College of Surgeons. The executive council represents volunteer surgeons who devote time to help foster the advance and success of surgeons of all specialties. These volunteer surgeons include Governors, Regents, Commission on Cancer Cancer Liaison physicians, Trauma surgeons, Residency and Fellowship program directors, and various specialty surgeons who assist with the annual meeting and representation at a national level. Each year, the NTACS develops and provides a scientific meeting with nationally recognized speakers, outstanding topics involving the latest changes and improvements in general surgery, urology, thoracic surgery, and pediatric surgery. Residents participate and learn valuable skills that prepare them for a career in surgery. Awards are given for the top Cancer paper, the top Trauma paper, the top Overall paper, and the top Poster. The four residency programs compete in a Jeopardy competition involving the latest facts and information about surgery.
